Product Description

Clean Kitties litter is specifically designed for CatGenie self-cleaning litter box systems, where waste is scooped, washed, and discharged through the system’s normal operation.

What is Clean Kitties litter made of?

   •   HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) granules

   •   Approximately 5% iron stearate additive

   •   No fragrance

   •   Non-clumping

Is it safe for my cat?

Clean Kitties is designed for normal litterbox use and is considered low-risk in ordinary handling, as it is an inert plastic granule and contains no added fragrance.

Does it clump?

No. Clean Kitties is intentionally non-clumping for proper performance in CatGenie systems.

Why does it stick to waste?

The granules are designed to lightly adhere to solid waste, helping the CatGenie system scoop and clean effectively.

Septic System Guidance (Important)

Septic systems separate contents into a floating scum layer (top), a settling sludge layer (bottom), and a liquid middle layer that exits to the drain field.

Clean Kitties is formulated with an approximate specific gravity of 0.98 (slightly buoyant). The intent is to help the material remain in the main tank rather than travel into the drain field.

Clean Kitties has been used in a septic system for approximately three (3) years with no observed issues when used as intended. Typical customer usage is approximately 3 lbs every 3 months (~10–12 lbs per year total). A portion of that amount may enter the septic system over time depending on usage and household conditions.

Clean Kitties contains iron stearate intended to support long-term degradation under certain conditions. Septic environments vary, so breakdown speed can vary and should not be relied on as the only factor.
